“People managing oceans” workshop in Samaná, Dominican Republic
The town of Samaná is the venue for a workshop in May called “People managing oceans”. Local civil society organizations, fisherfolk cooperatives and small and micro enterprises involved in the management and use of the coastal and marine resources are invited.
Nature Caribé, through its member CEBSE, is organising this event to raise awareness of “People managing oceans” (CLME+ C-SAP) project.
The aim is to align the actions and activities of local NGOs, cooperatives and SMEs with the strategies of this project, promote sharing between the different users of coastal-marine resources in the area of the Samaná Peninsula and gain the support of civil society for and encourage their active participation in “People managing oceans”.
The workshop is funded by a small grant from CANARI. Thanks are due also to PLN for co-funding this workshop.
